Lump sum vs annuity
EuroJackpot pays its jackpot as a single lump sum β there is no annuity option. Winners receive the full advertised prize (minus tax where applicable) in one payment. This is different from US lotteries like Powerball and Mega Millions, where opting for the lump sum means accepting a significantly reduced cash value (typically around 60% of the advertised jackpot).
Polish Lotto also pays prizes as a lump sum. Prize pools are funded by ticket sales, so the actual payout depends on the number of winners in each tier.
Important note
The EUR/PLN exchange rate used here (1 EUR = 4.25 PLN) is approximate and for illustration only. Actual conversion rates fluctuate. Tax rules are simplified β always consult a tax adviser for official guidance on your specific situation.
